New beginnings, out with the old (respectfully) x

The eagle-eyed among you may have noticed that I’m writing from a different place (no, really, not just metaphysically) than my previous blog. Just before Christmas, the time came to find a platform that fitted what I wanted to do, and focus on both the words and bright, shiny images with equal weight. So, here…

Bloomin’ Lovely

Zoomed around town today -really breezy and bright for what seems like the first time in ages and great to get out. I saw these fantastic floral window displays in the White Stuff…Makes you want to get the glue gun out and give it a go…Watch this space! I also looked up. Sounds daft I…

A Wintery Weekend…

We spent last weekend back home, enjoying the snow. Why not? Nostalgic and possibly a tad rose tinted (my feet were bloomin’ freezing) but not a panic buy or crazy driving experience in sight. x

January Days…

They’re not so bad…It’s getting colder (finally) with the chance of snow that makes this whole winter thing a bit more worthwhile. Some of this week sucked -grumpy baby, manic cleaning (trying to sell the house with two small children in it is a challenge) and trying to get some work done too. But then Thursday…

Blowing Away the Cobwebs…

So happy 2013 -we started the year with a walk on Studland Beach, which after several days of being locked in with rain, was long overdue and did the trick! Hope you like the photos, one of my many New Year’s Revolutions is to work on the camera-snappery…x

Drinking, Reading, Fishing?

Drinking: Babycham -It’s not just about the thrifted glasses, or the placemats…I actually like this stuff…and at three days overdue, a little fizzy tipple (responsibly) might just help quell the impatience, if not kick start things off. Reading: I love election result breakdowns and analysis -who voted when, for whom and where. It’s my form…

The Brilliance of Caravans…

I accept that a) it’s clearly the wrong time of year, b) this reflects my further intellectual demise into mashed potato head and c) will only appeal to a ‘niche’ audience, but crikey, I really like vintage caravans. My hope is to one day own a shiny airstream of my own as an office/workshop, where…

A Walk in the Woods…

Sometimes you need to remind yourself what makes you tick -I can get so immersed in making stuff and doing jobs that I end up confused about what colours I really like, what inspires me and what I should focus on. So, one hour spent in the woods (ostensibly hunting the Gruffalo) and several cut…
