Craft-it-Forward…

There’s a lovely little movement on social media…one that’s growing and that you might like to take part in; The Craft Swap. This month (via Instagram) I’ve been making for a lady in Derbyshire (not saying anymore than that, so there) along the theme of Alice in Wonderland. The idea is simple; one person decides to organise a swap of all those signed up, and then you make a set of gifts along a theme and budget. We have £10 to spend, must send four gifts min and one must be handmade. There is a set ‘reveal’ day and we … Continue reading Craft-it-Forward…

2 Months, 2 Kids, One House Move, Limited Budget…

Today is Sam’s last day at nursery school. In fairness we thought we’d be moved by now…turns out not so much! So while I sort out the enourmous to do list on my fridge, I have two kids at home (a home that’s being packed up) for the summer. Perhaps longer if he doesn’t get a school place. Hardly bears thinking about. So, I’ll be dropping up posts this summer about free (or as free-ish as I can get it) stuff to do for kids and mums (and dads) as my budget is as snug as the next persons… All … Continue reading 2 Months, 2 Kids, One House Move, Limited Budget…

Crikey, my bloomers are a-flappin’ in the wind….(or, a crochet peg-bowl)

Once you’ve crocheted a base to the size you’d like -which I guess depends upon the amount of laundry you do and the number of pegs that you have-, just work ‘up’ in a big spiral without any increases or decreases. This means you … Continue reading Crikey, my bloomers are a-flappin’ in the wind….(or, a crochet peg-bowl)

Making a week…

This week has been about the making -I still can’t get the balance right between actually producing stuff and blogging/etsy-ing and doing the research you need to get going! That, and I had to remake the little kitty cats made earlier in January as good old Royal Mail has them ‘somewhere’ over the Atlantic…grrr. So this is what I got up to…More on certain projects later but happily I have completed some and have some happy ideas underway x One: a lovely bakery visit (Hitchin) starts things off well -French bread that actually tastes French! If you’re in the area, … Continue reading Making a week…
