Twas the month before craft fair…

…And all through the house, not a creature was stirring, apart from me!
The wool was all stacked on the shelf with care,
In hopes that The Craft Fair soon would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
Whilst dreams of gin and crochet danced in my head.
With designs and hooks and yarn on my lap,
It’s only three weeks, bloody hell, chuffing crap!

At the school gates the mums get excited and chatter,
I’ve got to make stock, can’t stop, can’t natter.
Away to my table I flew like a flash,
Tore open my boxes and raided my stash.

The yarn on my hook with trebles did grow
A blanket, a scarf and three cushions did flow.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But my husband, a brew and two Nurofen (nice one Dear).

With a little inspiration, a deadline, hook quick,
I crochet all night, I’m now feeling sick,
More rapid than toddlers the big day came,
I searched for my table and there found my name.

With knitters! And glass makers! Cake bakers and clay!
More chocolate! Pork Pies! A tombola, don’t delay!
Bring cash, buy Independent, it’s mad, but a laugh,
We’re all slightly nutsy lovers of craft xx

The Balsham Craft, Gift & Food Fair is a little over 2 weeks away on the 8th and 9th October. Doors open at 10.30am, entrance £2 which includes a tea/coffee. Please come and support local independent crafters and traders and buy my crochet stuff. Or you might find it on your doorstep by the Monday morning (I’m running out of room in my house!).
